Indian diplomat Madhuri Gupta arrested for spying for Pakistan

MADHURI GUPTA, an Indian diplomat and second secretary with the Indian High Commission in Islamabad has been arrested after her alleged involvement was found in passing sensitive Indian government information to the Pakistan based Inter- Services Intelligence (ISI).
Madhuri Gupta was arrested from her residence in East Delhi on Sunday 25thApril by Delhi Police special cell on the charges of leaking and spying on strategic important documents related to Indian government. She was also detained for 2-3 days for questioning regarding her alleged role. She was working for the Press and Information Wing under Indian High Commission in Pakistan and was called back from Pakistan by the Ministry of External Affairs in order to carry out consultations related to the 16th SAARC Summit.
Gupta, 45 was produced before the court on Monday after which it was decided to send her to police custody for four days. According to the sources the final statement on Gupta's arrest will be coming from the Ministry of External affairs.
Madhuri Gupta, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) B-grade officer was leaking information sensitive to the Indian Government for the past two years.
According to the reports, Gupta was under surveillance for the past one year but as of now she is being interrogated by the Intelligence Bureau and the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW)
